SMI Distinguished Engineer Award - Scott Baker In recognition of his contributions to SMI, the Storage Management Initiative is presenting Scott with SMI Distinguished Engineer award for 2009. Scott works tirelessly to advance the SMI-S specification. He is the author of a number of SMI-S profiles. He shows a lot of interest in getting involved in addressing technical issues that come up. His vast technical background has been tremendously helpful to resolve differences between implementations. He does a great job managing the DRM TWG Scott is well liked and respected by all the people involved with SMI-S. Scott has contributed to SMI-S taken ownership of several key profiles (iSCSI, Extent Composition, Storage Server Asymmetry) and consistently done an excellent job in refining the designs and accommodating requests from implementers.

SMI Outstanding Contribution Award - Scott Baker In recognition of his contributions to SMI-S 1.4 and the Disk Resource Management TWG, the SMI is giving Scott Baker of Olocity an SMI Outstanding Contribution Award. Scott owns and maintains six SMI profiles (including the Multiple Computer System and Extent Composition profiles) and has been at the cutting edge of some of our xml schema changes. Indeed, as part of the DRM content reviews, Scott is leading the charge in cleaning up multiple uses of several key classes used by the array profile and its component profiles. Equally important, Scott stepped in to be the co-chair of the Disk Resource Management TWG, which is covers the Array and Storage Virtualizer Profiles and is our most active TWG. Scott's organized approach to running the meetings has kept work flowing through DRM.
